The Crone 🍂 The 4th drawing in my #13sketchesofhalloween! The Crone is multi-faceted in her archetype— She is the wise woman and the hag, the destructive old witch and the grandmother. She is a healer but also a dark mother, ushering in death and decay. She is the seer of both worlds that forever reigns over the transition from life into death and the turning of the natural cycle. The Crone’s energy is inherent in the fading of Autumn into Winter and she has long been associated with Samhain and the harvest. If you look closely at my other work, Samhain’s Magic Circle, you will notice that she is the key figure at the center of the wheel, too!
